
Bonnie L. Brown
1924-2009
On Wednesday, Sept. 9, Bonnie L. Brown left the confinement of her earthly body and is now resting in the arm’s of our Lord and Savior.
She was born on Oct. 24, 1924, to James C. Schmidt and Edith Godkin Schmidt in Waller County.
The long time resident of Lakehills was also a faithful Christian who was dedicated to praying for her family and reading her Bible.
She graduated valedictorian of her class from Pattison High School in Waller County. She lived at the Riverview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Boerne, where she was loved and will be missed.
Bonnie was the mother of six children, Linda D. McCarter of Lakehills; Kathleen I. Binford, who awaited her arrival in Heaven; David H. Binford and his wife, Nan, of Rock Comfort, Missouri; Debra F. Clark Perrodin of San Antonio; DeAnn I. Clark-Valdez of Lakehills; Michele C. Burge and her husband, James, of Carthage, Missouri; sisters, Alma Mathis of Katy, Jean Gillespie of Cold Springs; grandchildren, Mark Clark and his wife, Annette; Diann Flowers and her husband, Hank; Greg Binford and his wife, Betty; Christy Clark, Tim Binford and his wife, Jenn; Misti Wright and her husband, Neil; Howard Binford and his wife, Michelle; Matthew Sumrall; Samantha Binford; Kinneth Binford; Justin Clark; Amber Clark; Brian Valdez and his wife, Cherish; Stephen Clark; Jonathan Burge; and Katie Burge; great grandchildren, Tiffany Binford; Grady Binford; Ashley Reyes and her husband, Paul; Beau Flowers; Hailee Binford; Kaela Clark; Kendall Clark; Aliyah Pritchett; Kahmel Pritchett; Mattew Caleb Sumrall; Mackinzie Sumrall; Ava Binford; and Alexandra Netherlin; and great-great grandson, Luke A. Reyes, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and her many friends and extended family at Riverview Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Bonnie was preceded in death by daughter, Kathleen Binford; father James C. Schmidt; mother Edith I. Godkin Schmidt; sister Irma Tarkington; brothers, James C. Schmidt, Jr. and Maurice Schmidt; niece, Judith Krischke; and great nieces, Jeannie Martin and Jeannette Martin.
The funeral service was held at Grimes Funeral Chapels Saturday, Sept. 12, officiated by Brother Ryan Laden. Interment followed at Bandera Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mark Clark, Greg Binford, Tim Binford, Howard Binford, Matthew Sumrall, Kinneth Binford, Justin Clark, Brian Valdez, Stephen Clark and Jonathan Burge.
