
James Franklin Brooks
1936-2009
James Franklin Brooks, 72, born and raised in Edison, Georgia, passed away on Friday, April 10, at Palmyra Medical Center in Albany, Georgia.
Born on Nov. 3, 1936, to Virginia Long Brooks of Edison and the late James Thomas “JT” Brooks.
James retired as a Chief Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force after 28 years of service. He also retired as Director of Patient Financial Services at University Hospital in San Antonio. He was a member of Enterprise Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother; his wife of 25 years, Betty Lou Petty Brooks; daughters, Jacquie McDonald and her husband, Todd, of Keystone Heights, Florida, and Gloria "Dee Dee" Dorrough and her husband, Mark, of Lakehills; and seven grandchildren, Gene McDonald and his wife, Dora, of Keystone Heights; James McDonald and his wife, Nakia, of Gainesville, Florida; Kimberlee McDonald of Palm Harbor, Florida; and Billy Dorrough, Stephen Dorrough, Christie Dorrough and Jeanine Dorrough, all of Lakehills.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, April 15, at Enterprise Baptist Church in Clay County with the Rev. Jackie Williams officiating.
