Pumpkin time in Medina – Patch opens Oct. 3

If it’s fall, it must be time for the annual Great Hill Country Pumpkin Patch.

Every year, the Love Creek Apple Orchard in Medina transforms itself into a magical autumnal wonderland filled with scarecrows, pumpkins, live music and barn yard animals. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever.

“We have a variety of activities for the whole family, though this event is definitely designed with the kids in mind,” said organizer and manager Genie Strickland. “Bring your family or your school class out to enjoy our harvest of fun.”

A variety of activities including scarecrow building, hay rides, apple orchard tours, a petting zoo, story telling, the clever hay bail maze, face painting, barn yard animals and the Great Hill Country Symphony that allows kids to play the instruments. For a perfect fall decorations, purchase a pumpkin and the orchard will provide the paints for free.

As always, there’s a variety of food vendors and toys for kids. The cost is $5 per adult and $4 for children 12 and under. Babes in arms are admitted free. Free parking is also provided.

The Great Hill Country Pumpkin Patch opens on Saturday, Oct. 3 and ends on Saturday, Oct 30. Hours are 10 am to 4 pm, Saturday and Sunday; and 10 am to 3 pm, Monday and Tuesday. School tours are available on Thursday and Friday. The pumpkin patch is closed on Wednesday.

Last year, a couple of cuties were caught posing as pumpkins in the Great Hill Country Pumpkin Patch at Love Creek Apple Orchard in Medina. There’ll be more fun and games this year.
