Hot times at BBA’s 2009 RiverFest

By Judith Pannebaker

With temperatures again topping the 100º mark, not many could resist cooling off during RiverFest by jumping into the waters of the Medina River.

The 12th annual homage took place on the banks of the river that meanders through Bandera’s beautiful City Park. The good times were sponsored by the Bandera Business Association.

This year, every shady space was filled with more vendors, more barbecue cooking teams, more antique cars, more talented Bandera Idol finalists and certainly more participants. A still faltering economy obviously works in Bandera’s favor. Anyone looking for a mini-vacation need search no farther than Cowboy Capital of the World.

So, hats off to the sponsors of another successful RiverFest celebration – Buddy’s Water Well & Septic, Comprehensive Physical Therapy and Bandera Fitness, A&A Auto Pro, Budweiser, Running R Ranch and Twin Elm Ranch. Thanks for giving Bandera and its visitors another great time. See ya next year on the banks of the Medina River.
