Middle school runners close out season at Carrizo

The Bandera Middle School cross country teams traveled to Carrizo Springs for their district meet.
The seventh grade boys’ division the team finished five points out of third with a total of 81 points. Beau Gibson led the team by placing fifth and Ty Neff finished right behind him in sixth place. Wyatt Lucas was 20th, Dillon Rodriguez 24th, and Calivin Ponton placed 20th, 24th and 26th respectively, to round out the team.
In the eighth grade boys’ division Maverick Hicks led the team with a 10th place finish, while CJ Shade placed 18th, Jonathan Raitz 20th, Greg Macias 21st, Dillon McCoy 27th and Devin Barnes 28th.
With the total of 43 points, the seventh grade girls’ team finished eight points behind the first place team. Michelle Kassai led the team in sixth place with Kate Martin finished seventh; Dana Lohrke, eighth; Shae McMullan, 10th; Julie Hatch 12th; Jeneive Casarez 15th; and Lindsey Martinez 18th.
The eighth grade girls’ division team placed third, only 10 points away from a second place finish. Ashley Frerich finished seventh to lead the team while Catrina Sampson placed eighth; Claire Johanson, 10th; Lyric Parker, 11th; and Briley Clouse rounded out the team with a 14th place finish.
