The Bandera Middle School seventh grade Bulldogs defeated the Bobcats from Comfort by a score of 32-0 in front of their home crowd the night of Thursday, Oct. 22.
This victory gives the Dogs a perfect 6-0 record with their last four games being shutouts. The hometown boys in blue have not allowed a touch down since the second game of the season.
The Dogs started the scoring on the first play from the line of scrimmage on a 77-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Ty Neff to tight end Noah Nelson. The PAT failed, leaving the Dogs up 6-0. On the second series of plays, the Dogs tried a little trickery but failed to connect on the first pass. However, on the next play the Bulldogs scored on a 75-yard TD run by fullback Landon Ventura. The PAT also failed, giving the Dogs a up 12-0 lead.
On the first play in the next series, the Dogs scored again on a run from fullback Ventura, good for 73 yards. The PAT was added by another pass from Neff to Nelson, allowing he Dogs to widen their lead 20-0.
The fourth TD came on a run by halfback Luke Williams good for 18 yards, which increased the Dogs’ margin to 26-0.
The last two series of the game was given to the B offense, who drove the ball down the field against the Cats, adding a final TD on a one-yard run by fullback John Derry. The final score was 32-0.
Next week, the Dogs travel to Hondo to play the Owls. The following week they play Lytle at home to end the 2009 season.
