Kicking off the season and reviving an old tradition, the LadyBulldog Volleyball program hosted an Alumni Match on August 4, at Bulldog Gymansium.
An inter-squad Freshmen and Junior Varsity scrimmage was held at 6pm, followed by the Alumni match.
“It wass an exciting way to start our season and everyone had a lot if fun,” Head Girls Volleyball Coach Dee Heiner said.
Spectators were able to purchase fan shirts at the game and enjoy sweet treats for a donation at the match.
During the match, the crowd of fans were invited to play Volleyball bingo with events that occurred through the match and winners of bingo were awarded with cookies from the Country Bakery in Bandera.
Emcees for the event, James Whalen and Isaac Guajardo, kept the crowd involved with great sound effects and music throughout the night.
“The seven alumni team members of Karley Barrows (’10), Taylor Schultz and Kelly Nelson (‘14), Kalie Mansfield (’16) and Keleigh Schmidt, Morgan Gross, and Peyton Mooney (’17) represented Bandera High School graduates well, managing to extend the match to 3 sets,” Heiner said.
In the end, the 2017 LadyBulldog Varsity team came out with the win in three sets with scores of 26-24, 25-16 and 15-8.
The LadyBulldogs finished off the week with scrimmages against Kerrville Tivy on Saturday.
