Bandera Soccer Camp kicks off in July

By Sandy Jennings BCC Staff Writer

Bandera High School hosts their annual Soccer Camp starting July 17-20, at Bulldog Stadium for ages 4-14.

The Bandera High School Soccer staff is inviting all student athletes, ages 4-14, to participate in this year’s Bandera Soccer Clinic starting on July 17 and running through July 20.
“Students will be able to get quality training from high school soccer coaches and learn first hand what it takes to become a successful soccer player,” Head Girls Soccer Coach Myles Salas said.
The camp will take place at Bulldog Stadium from 8:30am until 10:30 am. Athletes will be divided into groups based on age and sessions will include individual skills–dribbling, passing and shooting, fun soccer games and activities, shootout competition, small sided games (4v4, 5v5), full field scrimmage (11v11) and the World Cup Tournament.
“No current Bandera High School students can attend per UIL rules, incoming nineth graders are permitted,” Salas said.
The clinic cost $30 for early registration and $40 for registration on the first day of camp.
To register early, make check payable to “Bandera Soccer” and drop off payment and form to Bandera High School front office or athletic department. Forms can be found on the Bandera ISD website under “Summer Camps” or can be picked up at the school.
For more information, email Myles Salas at msalas@banderaisd2.net or call 830-796-3898 ext. 3002.
“We encourage any student who is interested in playing soccer to come to the clinic and become part of the future success of both the boys and girls soccer programs,” Salas said.
