LadyBulldogs muzzle the Greyhounds

By Sandy Jennings BCC Staff Writer

Bandera LadyBulldog Volleyball sent a huge message to district rivals Boerne Greyhounds last Friday night, when they pummeled the state-ranked team in three games 25-20, 25-22, and 26-24.
The Greyhounds stopped Bandera’s 2015 State playoff run in the regional quarterfinals with a three-game win over the LadyBulldogs, but Bandera’s statement was loud and clear at Friday night’s Homecoming game, that they are a team to be reckoned with in this 2016 season.
Bandera’s go to hitter senior Morgan Gross laid down 11 kills and 5 aces on offense and scooped up 11 digs and a big block on defense, before throwing on a beaded gown and running down to the football field to be crowned the 2016 Homecoming Queen.
Gross was joined on the stat board by Peyton Mooney, who celebrated 8 kills, 10 assists and 13 digs.
Rio Orion dominated the nets again, sending 5 blocks down on the Greyhounds. Mattie Morrison and Alex Bauml also had a big block.
Offensively, Kaitlyn Paul put down 4 aces and Keleigh Schmidt set up 13 assists.
The LadyBulldogs are currently 1-0 in District, taking on Hondo and Fredericksburg this week and hosting Canyon Lake on Tuesday, October 7.
