Bulldog soccer earns trophy at tourney

The Bandera Bulldog Soccer team brought home hardware from the Pleasanton tournament, beating Pleasanton and Somerset and earning the title of Consolation Champions.
Bandera beat Pleasanton 2-1, with goalie Aidan Keane holding the Eagles to 0 at halftime.
The Eagles scored one goal in the second half, but could not push past the Bulldogs' defense in the final minutes.
Abram Mata and Brendan Keane each scored one goal with an assist by Dimitri Garcia.
In their 2-0 shutout against Somerset, the Bulldogs earned their second win and tournament title.
Goalie Aidan Keane and Bandera's defense were a force, keeping Pleasanton from scoring in the game.
Mata scored both goals for Bandera, with two assists from Nick Aguirre.
Earning Defensive MVPs for the tournament were Aidan Keane and Cole Schroeder.
The Bulldogs travel to Uvalde this Friday with a 5 pm kickoff.
