LadyBulldogs fall to Billies in district opener

LadyBulldog junior Keleigh-Shea Schmidt had 25 assists against D'Hanis.

The Billies came out firing against the LadyBulldogs in the district opener at Fredericksburg this past Friday night, taking down the Varsity 'Dogs in three games 10-25, 21-25, and 10-25.
Fredericksburg set the pace early and the LadyBulldogs found themselves on the defensive side of the game the majority of the match.
Stat leaders for Bandera were Kalie Mansfield with 15 assists, 4 blocks and 6 kills, and
Morgan Gross with 12 kills and a block.
Keleigh Schmidt added 9 assists and an ace, and Baleigh Toenes came up with 11 digs, followed by Kaitlyn Paul with 10, and Peyton Mooney with 7 digs.
Newcomer freshman Sullivan Wilke contributed 3 kills, and Alex Bauml celebrated a big block.
The LadyBulldog Varsity are now 19-13 overall and 0-1 in district play.
The JV LadyBulldogs also fell to the Billies in two games 9-25 and 17-25.
Stat leaders for JV were Abbey MacMillan with 9 digs, Rebecca McClure and KK Adams with 4 assists each, and Ally Elkins, Brooke Krahn, Lacey Welch and Rebecca Huckabee with 4 kills each.
The Freshman LadyBulldogs were defeated by the BIllies in two games 13-25 and 14-25.
Leading the 'Dogs in stats were Mattie Morrison with 3 blocks and 2 kills, and Presli Mooney with 4 assists, 2 kills, an ace and a block.
The LadyBulldogs took on the Warhorses in Devine on Tuesday and will battle the Lytle Pirates on their home court in Bandera on Friday.
