LadyBulldogs win champion title at Jourdanton tourney

The LadyBulldogs added four wins, two individual awards and a championship title to their season accolades, when they traveled to Jourdanton over the Christmas holidays.
The LadyBulldogs were crowned Tournament Champions and Jeneive Casarez was named to the All Tournament Team and Kate Martin earned Tournament MVP in the Jourdanton tournament.
In Bandera's first game, The LadyBulldogs found themselves matched up with the D'Hanis Cowboys. The LadyBulldogs took an early lead and maintained it, beating the Cowboys 40-28, with sophomore Alex Bauml leading the pack with 11 points, followed by Casarez with 10, Katie Beauchamp and Kaitlyn Rodriguez with 5 each, McKenzie Owens with 4, Martin with 3 and Carra Gillaspy with 2.
The Lytle Pirates proved a worthy match in Bandera's second game of the tournament, keeping the score close until the final buzzer with Bandera on top 42-39.
Martin led the LadyBulldogs in scoring with 11 points, followed by Casarez with 9, Kaylee Hornung with 7, Rodriguez with 5, Beauchamp with 4, Andrea Felice with 3, Gillaspy with 2, and Owens with 1.
On the second day of the tournament, Bandera beat the Jourdanton Indians (41-30) and continued their winning streak with a victory over the Three Rivers Wildcats (48-31) in their final game.
Owens led in scoring against the Indians with 11 points, followed by Beauchamp with 10, and Martin with 8. Martin led the Dogs in the victory over the Wildcats putting 16 points on the board.
The LadyBulldogs finished off the holidays with a big win over Pearsall (47-15) this past Friday.
The LadyBulldogs began District play on Tuesday against the Fredericksburg Billies and will host the Devine Warhorses this Friday with a 5 pm tipoff.
