The LadyBulldogs traveled to Floresville on Friday and Kerrville on Saturday for multiple team matches in scrimmage play to start the season.
Bandera Freshmen, JV and Varsity squads matched up with San Antonio teams Southwest, Floresville, Marion and Highlands High School in rally play on Friday, with a running clock.
"We did great," varsity setter Kalie Mansfield said. "We had good team chemistry, moving the ball well offensively and covering the floor defensively."
Bandera matched up with Kerrville Tivy and Boerne Geneva on Saturday. The LadyDogs held their own against the state-ranked 5A LadyAntlers in a back and forth match with big plays on both sides of the net.
In the second match, Bandera lined up against Boerne's private school Geneva, dominating at the net with height and strength.
"I think we played well for our first scrimmages," Mansfield said. "We have the talent, but we need to work more on communication and team unity."
Bandera traveled to Medina Valley on Tuesday, and will host their first home games against the Comfort Bobcats on August 18.
