Bobcats Blue/Gold scrimmage Friday

By Tim McGrath BCC Sports Writer

A new era of football in Medina will get underway on Friday, August 15, when the Medina Bobcats hit the gridiron for their first Blue/Gold scrimmage action in 6-man football. The annual team scrimmage will begin at 6 pm at Bobcat Stadium in Medina.
Bobcat Head Coach Mark Coley and his staff will guide the new era 'Cats through their first scrimmage action as they continue their preparation for their initial season in 6-man football competition.
The Bobcats are led by seniors Ben Dabney, Logan LeStourgeon, Jacob Lindstrom and Ryan Little and are expected to compete for a playoff position in their first year of action.
Coley, a 39-year veteran football coach, feels that the seniors will provide the leadership to launch the Bobcats into post season play and predicts a strong season for the Medina team.
"We have good leadership with our seniors and we are going to have a successful season," Coley said.
The Bobcats began practice last week with 21 players and Coley is hopeful of starting the season with at least 20. Following this week's Blue/Gold scrimmage, the Bobcats will return to the practice field to prepare for their first opponent away from home.
On Friday, August 22, the Bobcats will travel to Kerrville to take on Our Lady of the Hills in scrimmage action beginning at 5:30 pm.
Come out and support the Bobcats! They promise to deliver an exciting, high scoring season ahead!
