All Stars win 1st round game

The Hill Country Majors (11-12 year olds) All Stars won their first game in the District Tournament in Uvalde on Sunday, June 22, by defeating Charlotte 21-1. The Hill Country All Stars team includes 10 Bandera players and three players from Leakey.
Brock Cardenas pitched an excellent game. He had seven strikeouts and allowed only four hits.
Highlights of the game included a first homerun of the season for Trace Decker with a three run shot to Center field. Tommy Cardenas went four for four with two doubles and two singles. Gunnar Brown went three for four with a triple and two singles. Trapper Pannell had a great snag in 3rd base.
"All the boys played hard and fought the whole game to get their first victory in the tournament," said a team spokesman.
Their next game will be Friday, June 26, against 5 Diamonds at 8 pm in Uvalde.
