By Brady Keane BCC Contributor

The Bulldog and Lady Bulldogs tennis teams competed at the Uvalde tournament last weekend, bringing home a lot of success across multiple divisions. The tennis players brought home six top 10 finishes in the early season tournament, and will look to build off the successful weekend moving forward towards district.
On the Lady Bulldogs' side of the tournament, Abbey Jones won second place in the main draw in the girls singles competition, and Marissa Godbey won the consolation draw. Also competing for the first time at the varsity level was freshman Kalee Schoonmaker in the girls singles division.
The Bulldogs tennis players were able to rack up several top awards in the tournament as well, as Bobby Nolan and Jonathan Stockdale got third and fourth place respectively in the boys singles division, while the boys doubles team of Nathan Acord and Wyatt Evans got sixth place and the freshman doubles team of Gunnar Gard and Jacob Williams got tenth.
Both the boys and girls tennis teams will continue their preparation for the district tennis tournament with several more meets in the coming month.
Today, the teams travel to Canyon Lake with game times beginning at 4:15. The teams will next travel to the River Hills Country Club in Kerrville on March 4 for a Duel Match with Medina. The district tennis meet will be held March 27 and 28.
