Bulldog basketball wins big over Warriors, falls to Boerne in opener

Bulldog basketball traveled to Ingram to take on the Warriors in a much anticipated game. Both teams were fighting for a victory before starting district play on Friday, and the 'Dogs ended Ingram's winning streak, shutting them down in the third with a final score of 60-54.
Scoring for the Bulldogs were Averie Mansfield 23, Ty Neff 16, Noah Nelson 8, Jonathan Raitz 5, Corey Jennings 4, Marshall Beightol and Allen Clark both with 2.
On Friday the 'Dogs went to battle with district rivals the Boerne Greyhounds. An earlier match-up with the Hounds found Bandera down by one point at the OT buzzer.
As hard as they fought, Bandera, after by leading 12 in the second quarter and by 8 at the half-time buzzer, watched their lead dwindle, chasing the Greyhounds for the remainder of the game. Even though it was a 3 point game with three minutes left, the Bulldogs found themselves trailing the Greyhounds 56-44 at the final buzzer.
Scoring for the Bulldogs were Ty Neff with 21, Averie Mansfield 6, Marshall Beightol and Noah Nelson both with 5, Corey Jennings 4, and Jonathan Raitz with 3.
The JV Bulldogs received their fourth loss of the season with the Hounds up 50-33 at buzzer.
Leading scorers were Brady Keane 11, Nick Salas 6, Ethan George 4, Jeremiah Silone and Utah Hicks both with 3.
The Freshmen team played tough against Boerne, but a buzzer shot to tie the game fell short. Scoring were Trevor Leggett 9, Bryce Boyd 7, Walker Hicks 4, Carson Wilke 4, Connor Chessir and Dylan Bess with 3.
