Lady Bulldogs JV plow past Pleasanton

Capitalizing off of opponent's mistakes has certainly been the bread and butter of this years junior varsity Lady Bulldog basketball team, as the ladies have thrived off of creating turnovers in their full court press. The Lady Bulldogs continued to dominate opponents in a matchup against the Pleasanton Eagles on December 20, defeating the Eagles by a score of 70-19.
"We played a great game and really got an opportunity to work on our man offense," Coach Ginger Postert said. "We haven't seen a whole lot of man defense lately, so it was a great chance to brush up on that."
The Lady Bulldogs did an outstanding job against the man defense the Eagles brought to the game, and the ladies guards outplayed the guards of Pleasanton throughout the entire game. By executing the full court press, the Lady Bulldogs got several easy baskets off of steals by guards Laurynn Winters, Andrea Felice, Keleigh Schmidt, and Jenieve Casarez.
Defensively, the Lady Bulldogs held Pleasanton to under 20 points in a great effort. The Eagles couldn't handle the full court pressure the ladies brought, and when they were able to set up an offense the Lady Bulldogs continued to play lockdown defense.
On the offensive side of the court, Winters continued to be the leading scorer for the Lady Bulldogs as she scored 17 points in the victory. Casarez was the second leading scorer from the point guard position, adding 12 points to the ladies cause.
The Lady Bulldogs have continued to improve in each game this season, and will next head to Harper on December 28 before hosting Marion on December 30.
