Bobcats fall to Rocksprings at homecoming

The Rocksprings Angoras put a damper on the Medina Homecoming week celebration when they rolled past the Bobcats 44-16 in District 15-A-ll football action played on Friday, Oct. 25 at Bobcat Stadium in Medina.
Despite the margin of victory, the Bobcats of Medina put on a hard fight throughout the night as they continue their efforts to field 11 healthy players from week to week. The courageous performance by the Bobcats included some highlights that gave the Medina Homecoming crowd something to cheer about.
Bobcat quarterback Weston Jenkins rushed 17 times for 38 yards and a touchdown and completed 10 of 17 passes for 118 yards and another Bobcat score. Jason Ross also added to the Bobcat offensive attack with 42 yards rushing on 14 attempts and a pass reception for another 9 yards.
Bobcat receivers also included Logan LeStourgeon with 4 catches for 83 yards while Alex Medina had 2 grabs for 12 yards, Kyle Prater 2 for 7 and Zach Simons 2 receptions for 7 yards. On the defensive side of the ball, Bobcat Ryan Little was credited with 8 tackles while Brae Sanders and Ben Dabney contributed five tackles each to the Medina defensive effort.
The Bobcats return to action on Friday, Nov. 1 when they will celebrate Senior Night and play host to the visiting Leakey Eagles with kickoff set for 7:30 pm at Bobcat Stadium in Medina.
