Bulldogs and Bobcats compete at Bandera pre-district Cross Country meet
The Lady Bulldog Varsity Team won the Bandera Bulldog Pre-District Cross
Country Invitational held Wednesday, Oct. 16. The JV Blue Team finished second. Of the 23 Lady Bulldogs who ran, 14 recorded their best time of the 2013 season.
Varsity medal winners were Jewel Weed (3rd), Taelen Butler (4th), Sarah Butler (6th), Kate Martin (11th), Monica Mata (12th), and Emily
Montague (13th). Other runners contributing to the success of the varsity team were Lexie Dusek and Alex Joyer.
JV Blue Team medal winners were Laurynn Winters (3rd), Allie Denham (4th), and Kim Engels (10th). Others contributing to the JV Blue team success were Bethany Martinez, Emily Dibrell, Jessie McLeod, Jenessa Heinen, and Paige Barrington.
Running on the JV Silver team were Larissa Williams, who was only two places away from earning a medal; Julie Hatch, McKenzie Owens, Cheyanne Burns, Myha Knowles, Destiny Jannell, and Jackie Macias.
Both the 7th Grade Girls Team and the 8th Grade Girls Team earned the championship title in the Bandera Pre-District Cross Country Meet last week.
The 7th graders finished with 22 points. Second place went to Pleasanton with 60 points, followed by Boerne South Middle School with 71.
Placing in the top 10 were: 2nd, Sullivan Wilke , 14:39; 3rd, Presli Mooney, 14:47; 5th,, Megan Mangold, 15:00; 6th, Deja Gamez. 15:03; and 9th, Mattie Morrison, 15:27. Others running for the team were Sophia Guajardo, Tatiano Trevenio, Nicole Biggs, and Salma Gutierrez.
The 8th Grade Girls finished with 33 points. In second place was Pleasanton with 52 points and third went to Boerne South with 58.
Placing in the top 10 were: 3rd, Sandy Clarkin, 13:27, and 7th, Madison Brzezenski, 14:34. Others on the team for the meet were RayLynn Bowen, Natily Pressa, and Katie McCoy.
Individual runners for the boys teams were: 8th graders Michael Gonzales who finished third at 12:33, and Tanner Gibson, finishing fifth at 12:49; 7th graders Mason Bankston, finishing 10th at 13:37, Charles Mata, Jake Montegue, and Davis McMullan.
The Medina Bobcats placed several runners including 7th grade- Madeleine Emmons, Andrew Ayala, 8th grade- Emily Mills, Varsity girls Halah Garrison, Ashley Heinen, Taylor Winningham and Varsity boys Austin Wheatley and Jacob Herron.
