Lady Bulldogs blow past Burnet

The Lady Bulldogs continued their winning streak last Friday in the Homecoming game, defeating Burnet in four sets. After blowing out
Burnet in the first set (25-9), the Lady Bulldogs
dropped the second set (20-25). Despite the
loss, the Lady Bulldogs came back strong to
win the next two sets (25-21) and (25-11).
"If we start strong and play fast throughout the
game, then we can compete with anybody we
play against," senior Kelly Harris said.
The Lady Bulldogs were led by junior Dana
Lohrke, who recorded 8 kills, 11 digs, and 9
assists on the night. Other key contributors
were senior Catrina Sampson with 12 digs, 17
assists, and 1 ace, senior Kelly Nelson with 9
kills and 1 ace, Harris with 8 digs and 1 ace,
and senior Taylor Shultz with 11 digs.
"We played really well as a team throughout
the game," Lohrke said. "We bounced back

With the victory, the Lady Bulldogs improved to
15-14 on the season. The Lady Bulldogs will
head to Fredericksburg tomorrow night in the
district opener, as the fight for a playoff spot
"We need to make sure we move the ball fast
offensively, while making sure we play good
defense against the strong offenses in our
district," Coach Dee Heiner said.
