Bulldog JV battle past Hawks

By Brady Keane BCC Contributor

Last Friday, Jan. 25, the Bulldogs JV basketball squad traveled to Canyon Lake hoping to grab another district victory. After a tight game that involved a ferocious Canyon Lake comeback, Bandera was able to pull out a 43-36 victory.
Bandera started off slow in the game, and led Canyon Lake by only two points at halftime.
In the fourth quarter, the Hawks heated up from three point range, bringing the game within four points. However, clutch free throws from junior Jonathan Raitz and sophomore Averie Mansfield helped the Bulldogs close out the game. With the victory, Bandera improved to 17-2 on the season, and 3-2 in district play.
The Bulldogs were once again led by Mansfield, as he exploded for another 20 point performance. Raitz added 10, sophomore Brady Keane had 7, and sophomore Corey Jennings 6. The Bulldogs ravel to Navarro tomorrow for their final away game this season. Bandera will finish with three straight home games, taking on Fredericksburg Feb. 5, Wimberley Feb. 8, and Canyon Lake Feb. 12.
