Bobcats roll on with 3-0 district mark

The Medina Bobcats picked up a pair of District 27-A-1 victories last week by defeating the Junction Eagles 52-43 on Tuesday, Jan. 15 at Medina before disposing of the Center Point Pirates 47-15 on Friday, Jan. 18 at Center Point.
The victories by the Bobcats improves their district mark to 3-0
The Bobcats travel to Nueces Canyon on Friday, Jan. 25 for a 7:30 pm matchup with the Panthers.
Against Junction, the Bobcats raced out to a 16-7 first quarter lead and never trailed after that on their way to victory.
The Bobcats were led by Mitchell Black and Garrett Collins with 19 and 17 points respectively while Adrian Jackson added 8, Weston Jenkins 4 and Teejay Handley and Ben Dabney 2 each to round out the Bobcat scoring effort against the Eagles.
Collins also hauled down 11 rebounds while Jackson grabbed 8 and Dabney 6 to aid the Medina effort against Junction. Black also had 5 assists and 6 steals in the Bobcat winning effort over the Eagles.
At Center Point, it was no contest as the Bobcats roared out to a 15-2 first quarter lead and never looked back on their way to a 47-15 thumping of the Pirates. Black again led Medina scorers with 15 points while Collins added 13 points and 12 rebounds to the Bobcat effort at Center Point.
