Bobcats roll past La Pryor 64-43

The Medina Bobcats got off to a quick start and rolled past the La Pryor Bulldogs 64-43 in non-district basketball action played Friday, Jan. 4 at La Pryor.
The Bobcats open district play Friday, Jan. 11, at Mason. On Tuesday, Jan. 15, the Bobcats return home for their second district matchup against the Junction Longhorns. Tipoff at the Medina gym will be at 7:30 pm.
At La Pryor, the Bobcats jumped out to a 23-14 lead after one quarter of play and were led by Mitchell Black's 33 point effort while Garrett Collins hit for 12 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to assist the Medina cause. Teejay Handley added 8 points and 8 rebounds to the Medina effort while Michael Baker (5 points, 9 rebounds), Weston Jenkins (2 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists), Garrett Simon (2 points, 3 rebounds) and Nathan Stovall (2 points, 3 boards) all contributed to the victory. Black also had 5 steals.
