Ninth grade boys lose close one to Pleasanton
Leading through most of the game, Bandera's 9th grade hoopsters dropped a closely fought battle to Pleasanton with a final score of 35 to 36.
Rueben Vargas led the game scoring 8 points. Utah Hicks followed with 5 points for the game. JT Milner and Ethan George each came in with 4 points. Jeremiah Salome added 3 points to the mix. Connor Randle, Tristan Butler, Andrew Zimmell and Nick Salas all helped with a bucket each.
"The kids played hard coming back from a 10-point deficit in the first quarter to go back up by six in the third, only to fall short 36-35 in the end. They had a great team effort with Salas, Salome and Randall who came off the bench and grabbed some very tough rebounds," said Coach John Irvin. This puts the 9th graders at 2-1 for the season.
