2012-10-04Lady Dogs fall to Wimberley Texans

Last Tuesday, Sept. 25, the Bandera Lady Bulldogs varsity volleyball team lost to the Wimberley Texans in four hard fought sets. With the loss, the Lady Dogs fell for the second straight game after entering district on a 7-game winning streak.
"Going forward, we need to work on playing together, as a team," junior Catrina Sampson said. "We have to stick together even when things aren't going our way."
The Lady Dogs were led by Kelly Nelson with 11 kills; Madelynn Kinsel with 9 kills, 2 blocks and 3 aces; McKenna Mangold with 25 digs; Catrina Sampson with 30 assists and 16 digs; and Dana Lohrke with 3 blocks. With the loss, Bandera fell to 15-13 on the season (0-2) in district, while Wimberley improved to 24-8 on the season (3-0) in district.
After entering district play on a 7-game winning streak, Bandera has now dropped three in a row after losing to the Navarro Panthers on Friday in straight sets. The Lady Dogs took on Canyon Lake on Tuesday, Oct. 2, looking to start another winning streak. Tomorrow, Oct. 5, the Lady Dogs will host Fredericksburg with games beginning at 5 pm.
Fredericksburg is 20-15 on the season, and 2-1 in district.
