Lady Bobcats complete sweep at SA Stacey

The Medina Lady Bobcat volleyball team completed a season sweep over San Antonio Stacey on Tuesday, Sept. 18 when they took the match in three straight sets by scores of 25-4, 25-10 and 25-14 at Stacey.

Earlier in the season, the Lady Kats shut out Stacey by winning in three straight sets at Medina. It was a final preparation for the Lady Kats before the start of the district season that began on Friday, Sept. 21 at Junction.

Lady Bobcat Abby Seymour led the Medina attack with 6 kills at Stacey while Nikki Sandidge pitched in with 3 kills and Kaitlyn Robinson 3 for Medina.

Hannah Buettner contributed 13 assists while Sandidge kicked in with 3 aces for the Lady Kats who improved their overall record to 8-11 going into district play.

At Junction, the Lady Kats kept it close but fell to the Lady Eagles in four sets, 25-21, 21-25, 25-19 and 25-19.

Lauren Ortiz recorded 7 kills and 4 digs for Medina while Buettner added 21 assists to the Lady Kats effort at Junction. Sandidge had a pair of aces for Medina. On Tuesday, Sept. 25, the Lady Bobcats travel to Utopia for a 6 pm match against the Lady Buffs. JV action gets underway at 5 at Utopia.
