Lady Bulldog JV compete well at New Braunfels

The Bandera Lady Bulldog junior varsity cross-country team competed "extremely well" at the 2012 New Braunfels Unicorn Cross Country Invitational Meet held on Saturday, Sept. 1 at New Braunfels.

Lady Bulldog Head Coach Steve Golemon was quick to praise the effort of the Bandera JV girls, comprised of one junior, two sophomores and six freshmen. The Bandera girls finished second in the 12 team competition behind the JV team from New Braunfels Canyon High School.

Individual medal winners included freshman Mercy Yermo, placing third, and freshman Caitlin Lenihan, finishing fourth.

Junior Ashley Frerich finished in the top 20 percent of the 147 runner field while freshman Allie Denham finished in the top 30 percent while freshmen Catherine Ringel and Caitlin Prince both finished in the top 50%.

Freshman Paige Barrington was one place behind the top 50 percent while sophomores Rachel Barker and Jordan Fazio improved on their season best time significantly.
