The Medina Bobcats turned up the power on their explosive offensive machine in crushing the visiting Menard Yellow Jackets 47-6 in non-district football action played on Friday, Sept. 7 at Medina.
The Bobcat defense also strangled the Menard offensive efforts for most of the night as the Bobcats improved their 2012 season mark to 2-0.
Senior running back Adrian Jackson again led the Bobcat offensive effort with 14 carries for 223 yards and three touchdowns while senior quarterback JD Ortiz added 84 yards and a touchdown to the Medina rushing stats. Dillon Asher carried three times for 25 yards and a score to round out the Medina ground game scoring.
Ortiz also tossed a pair of touchdown passes to wide receiver Michael Black who finished with 74 yards and two TDs for Medina. Weston Jenkins had one reception for nine yards for the Bobcats.
The Bobcats totaled 413 yards in offense with 330 coming on the ground.
The Yellow Jackets had little to offer offensively as the Bobcat defense kept the door shut on their efforts throughout the contest.
The Bobcats continue their non-district schedule this week with an away game at Johnson City on Friday, Sept. 14. Kickoff against the Eagles is at 7:30 pm. Next week, on Friday, Sept. 21, the Bobcats return home for a non-district matchup with the Brackett Tigers.
