Thanks for the coverage

After three days attending the Texas Federation Republican Women’s board of director’s meeting and workshops I relaxed with a Diet Coke and the BC Courier, and what a shock to see Gov. Perry and myself on the front page.

Thank you so much for the wonderful coverage of the VOY Award ceremony. The coverage you print on the BCRP and BCRW activities is greatly appreciated.

There is one correction on the VOY story. I wasn’t the first Republican County Chairman. There were several before me, among them was Colonel Densford, Gib Gray and Buddy Thompson. Buddy resigned mid-term of his second term as county chairman and I was appointed to serve the remainder of his term. Then I was elected to three terms.

At the time I became Republican Party County Chairman, I was a staff writer and photographer at the only newspaper in Bandera County. The editor of the paper was the Democratic County Chairman. Strangely, with all the talk about bipartisan politics, it worked and both parties received coverage on news stories and events.
