2008-10-23Witch hunts still exist
In this day and age, it is quite troublesome to know that witch hunts still exist.
I attended a commissioners meeting that was held in our pretty and picturesque (courthouse) in Bandera, on Thursday, Oct. 16. The meeting was held to decide the fate of the Cowboy Capital Pet Assistance League, our local animal shelter. It was anything but pretty or fair.
With the exception of (Precinct 2 Commissioner) Bobby Harris, all the other commissioners’ minds were made up to get rid of the one place that the abused, starving or lost animals could find a loving refuge. Anyone who has been to the shelter knows it is not a pretty place. CCPAL’s hard-won funds are spent on the animals not the cosmetics of a place they do not own in the first place. The volunteers make sure that there is love in abundance down to the smallest resident.
So, to all who were involved in this travesty, I hope that your rest is not easy, and that the needless and countless deaths of these animals will weigh on your consciences. But, if not, I hope that the good people of Bandera County will band together and vote you all out of office.
On the surface this looks like a pretty place to live. It isn`t.
I for one am sorry I moved to an area with such a hate for the few good people and all the innocent (animals) they have tried and succeeded in caring for.
