Emma Elenora Hotz

1933-2009

Emma Elenora Hotz a resident of Lakehills, passed away in San Antonio on Wednesday, Dec. 30.

She was born in Calhound County at Port Lavaca on Jan. 5, 1933, to Walter E. Hengst and Irene Schafer-Hengst. The youngest child, she was preceded in death by her parents, and by her six siblings.

Emma is survived by her husband of 62 years, Thomas H. Hotz. The couple married in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Cuero on Jan. 11, 1948.

She is also survived by son Jesse Lee Hotz and his wife, Katherine, and the couple’s children, Wyatt and Emma; son Timothy Hotz and his wife, Lori, of Lakehills; grandson Jesse Lee Hotz Jr. and his wife, Janet, and their children, Joshiah and Jae Lene Hotz, of Eatonville, Washington; and sister-in-law Margurite Van Dyke and her husband, Paul, of Bryan, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

A very special thanks goes out from the family to all the nurses and staff at VITAS Innovative Hospice Care, 8109 Fredericksburg Road, for their tender loving care and for the kindness and comfort given to dear Emma during her final days.
