George Hume Beaton, 74, of Bandera, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 5.

He was born to George and Margaret Soblotne Beaton in New Rochelle, New York.

He proudly served in the United States Marines Corps from 1953 to 1957.

In 1954, Mr. Beaton married Elizabeth Thompson on October 22. He worked as a Master Electrician for 38 years.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty Beaton of Bandera; daughters, Cheryl Perry and her husband, William, of Lampasas; Rhonda Beaton of Bandera; Kimberley Beaton of Bandera; and sons,
Keith Beaton of Kerrville; Kevin Beaton and his wife, Paula, of Boerne; and Brian Beaton and his wife, Kim, of Lakehills.

Graveside Services were held Friday, Dec. 11, 2009 at the Fort Sam Houston Cemetery in San Antonio.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the military or a charity of choice.
