Louis H. Kieschnick
1923-2009
Louis H. Kieschnick, 86, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 22, in San Antonio.
He was born in Bishop to Ludwig and Ida Kieschnick on April 8, 1923.
A decorated veteran, Louis served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II, flying 50 missions as a gunner in a B24 in the European Theater of Operation. He retired from Civil Service after 34 years, working most of that time at the Corpus Christi Army Depot.
Louis is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jacqueline Almon Kieschnick; sons, Martin Kieschnick and his wife, Barbara; Calvin “Corky” Kieschnick and his wife, Fifi; and Ludwig Kieschnick, all of Corpus Christi; daughters, Eloise Kieschnick Nisayas of Tomball and Pollyanne Kieschnick and Gladys Kieschnick, both of Corpus Christi; stepchildren, Jack Bishop and his wife, Lilivette, of Portland; and Jeri Dossat and her husband, Scott, of Austin; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Estelle Haug of Robstown and Viola Prinz and her husband, Lester, of Corpus Christi; and brother LeeRoy Kieschnick and his wife, Isabelle, of Bishop, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Louis was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Jean Kieschnick; son, the Reverend Louis H. Kieschnick Jr.; sisters, Gladys Kieschnick and Helen Kieschnick Shafer; and brother Elmo Kieschnick.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 25, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Pallbearers were Ludwig Kieschnick, Joshua Kieschnick, Willie Haug, Guy Williams, Dana Martin, and Paul Rubac. Interment followed at Seaside Memorial Cemetery with full military honors.
