Burton Franklin Harrison

1927-2009

Burt grew up in Bloomington, Illinois, and enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II. While serving in the Pacific Theater, he was stationed on Midway Island. After the war, he attended Illinois Wesleyan University where he became a member of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity.

Burt enjoyed a successful career in menswear sales, working for Arrow Shirts and Wembley Ties. He also represented other manufacturers for 25 years from his showroom in the Dallas Menswear Mart. After retiring to the Florida Keys, Burt fulfilled a lifelong dream of living on a sailboat as a resident of Tavernier on Key Largo.

He is survived by Pat Harrison; daughters, Susan Harrison and Nancy Harrison Olson; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera on Saturday, Nov. 14.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be forwarded to the Peterson Hospice, 1121 Broadway, Kerrville 78028.
