Gwendoline Terrell York, 74, of Pipe Creek, passed away Sunday, Jan. 16, in San Antonio.
She was born in Wink, Texas, to the late Edmund Duggan and Susie Iona Terrell.
Gwendoline attended Incarnate Word Academy and Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, where she married the late Maurice York on Sept. 1, 1956. The couple lived in Corpus Christi, San Antonio, and Boerne, before settling in Pipe Creek in 1975.
She is survived by children, Christopher York and his wife, Sue Seely York, of Spring Branch, and Kerry York Currie and her husband, Major Kent Currie, of San Antonio; and grandchildren, Spencer Currie and Lila and Reese York. A Rosary was recited for the couple on Thursday, Jan. 20, and the Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, Jan. 21, both at St. Peter the Apostle Church in Boerne with Father Tony Cummins, Celebrant. Interment followed in the Boerne Cemetery.
The family extends thanks Dr. Frank Mueller and the nurses on the sixth floor of Methodist Hospital in San Antonio for their kind and gentle care, and to wonderful friend, Marlene Huff, of Corpus Christi, for her steadfast help and support.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in the name of Gwendoline Terrell York to the Pancreatic Center Action Network at
