Annie Lou Whiddon


Annie Lou Whiddon of Pipe Creek passed from life through death and into eternity on Friday, Jan. 21. She is now absent from the body and face to face with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Annie Lou was born April 12, 1920, in Lafayette, Louisiana, to Florry Nay Lisbony and Charles Lisbony.
She graduated from Jefferson Davis Hospital School of Nursing in 1941. Annie Lou retired from her nursing career in 1983.
A fantastic mother, mother-in-law and grandmother, she was also a true Christian Warrior, who made her transfer from time to eternity with the firm understanding that, for her, dying is profit.
She was the beloved wife of Rufus C. Whiddon and devoted mother of Carol Whiddon, Joanne Heins, Jeanne Lassetter and Sharon Vogel.
Annie Lou is survived by her four daughters and their husbands; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; her sister, Verna Wyatt; and her many wonderful friends.
Annie Lou's brother, CL Lisbony, preceded her in death in 2010.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 24, at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Bandera. Committal services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 25, at the Chapel of the Angels in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Avenue, in Houston, with Mr. Tim Shaw officiating.
