Zachary Brown Clark Jr., 82, of Pearland, passed away Friday, Dec. 11.
He was born March 23, 1928 in Bandera, where he was raised, the youngest of six children. Zach was a former owner of Bandera's iconic Silver Dollar Saloon & Dancehall.
Earning the rank of Staff Sergeant in the United States Army, he served as a squadron leader in the 378th Combat Engineer Company during the Korean War - after which served five years in the Army Reserve.
Zach retired after working 25 years in sales with Houston Fire & Safey. However, he returned to the workforce after taking a position with Industrial Fire & Safety where he spent an addition 10 years before retiring again in 2007. He had been a resident of Green Tee Terrace in Pearland for 29 years.
Some of Zach's proudest accomplishments came from being a member of the Pearland First United Methodist Church, Green Tee Homeowners Association, as a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and, of course, as a former owner of the Silver Dollar.
He is survived by the love of his life, Anne Denny Clark, and various nieces and nephews living throughout the United States.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, Dec. 14, at the Niday Funeral Home, followed by a private interment at South Park Cemetery in Pearland.
