Wesley D. Muecke

1944-2010

Wesley D. Muecke, 66, passed away on Wed. Dec. 15, at his home with his family at the bedside.
He was born on January 10, 1944, in San Antonio to Wesley and Patricia Muecke.
Wesley served in the United States Navy from 1964 until 1966. He married Janette Causey on Feb. 14, 1970, in Bandera. After retiring from Renier Manufacturing, he pursued hobbies that included traveling, camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, wood working, metal sculpture and gardening.
He particularly enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and grandchildren.
As an avocational archaeologist, Wesley became a member of the Texas Archaeology Society. He accompanied his archaeologist daughter on numerous surveys and digs, including Chaco Canyon National Park.
Additionally, he went on many other surveys and digs in Wyoming, New Mexico and West Texas.
Wesley is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Janette Muecke, of Bandera; mother Patricia Muecke of San Antonio; son David Muecke and his fiancée, Heather Vest, of San Antonio; daughter Dawn Riggs and her husband, Troy, of Bandera; sister Patricia Carver of San Antonio; and grandchildren, William and Samantha Muecke, both of San Antonio, as well as many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Services will be held in early spring.
