Evelyn Pauline Steinle 1920-2010

Evelyn Pauline Steinle, 90, of San Antonio, fell asleep in death early Monday, Nov. 29, at Cedar Creek Nursing Center in Bandera where she had been a resident.
She was born to Max and Alma Pressler Moreland on June 2, 1920, in San Antonio. Evelyn’s parents preceded her in death.
After graduating from Breckenridge High School in San Antonio, she attended M&S School of Nursing and completed her training in 1942. In 1968, Evelyn was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and continued to be active in her faith until her death.
For many years, she created oil paintings of landscapes from across the Texas Hill Country. Her artwork won numerous awards and has been displayed in many local venues.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Judy Wilkirson and her husband, Sid, of Bandera; daughter-in-law Linda Lattin and her husband, Michael, of Spring Branch; brother, Jack Moreland of Uvalde; granddaughters, DeLeene Rick and her husband, Brad, of Bandera, and Cerissa Wilkirson of Houston; great-granddaughter, Sarah Rick of Bandera; nieces Kay Oliphant and her husband, Kenny, of Uvalde and Lee Ann Collier and her husband, Richard, of Concan; and cousins Chuck Kalteyer and his wife, Alicean, of Austin; Charlyne Zirkel and her husband, Raymond, of San Antonio and Medina; Ruth Subramanian and her husband, Mani of Atlanta, Georgia; Margaret Lynch of San Antonio, and the late Marjorie Hunt of Corpus Christi.
Evelyn was also preceded in death by her husband, Martin Steinle; daughter Patti Jo Steinle; and son Bryan Steinle.
Graveside services were held Friday, Dec. 3, 2010 at San Jose Cemetery in San Antonio.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Cedar Creek Nursing Center and that of VistaCare Hospice for the kind attention and care given to Evelyn.
