Virginia Taylor Harley

1919-2009

Virginia Taylor Harley, born on November 30, 1919 in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 18, at the age of 89.

For many years, she worked as a hair stylist at Block’s Department Store in Indianapolis, Indiana. Virginia also had her own shop on Jackson Street in Shelbyville, Indiana.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Ernest Harley Sr.; daughter Imogene Heck; two sons, Ernest Harley Jr. and Zain Harley; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Preston Taylor and Lula Bryant; sister Stella Hagan; brothers, Stanley, Orville and Preston Taylor; sons, Norman Wayne and Wayne Edwin Heck; daughters, Sandra Jeanean Heck, Linda L. Perrdue and Paulette Dearth; and grandson Raymond Dearth.

Reverend Scott of Lakehills United Methodist Church conducted a memorial service on Tuesday, August 21, at Puente and Sons Funeral Chapels.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 25, at 11 am at Boggstown Cemetery in Indiana.
