Kenneth R. Miner


Kenneth R. Miner, 78, passed away Sunday, May 1, at his home in Bandera.
He was born in Newark, Ohio, on Sept. 22, 1937, to Carl Eugene and Ethel Mae Miner. Kenneth married Bette Lindsley on April 2, 1956, in Northwood, Iowa.
A veteran of the Vietnam War in the United States Air Force, he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, National Defense Service medal, two Silver Stars and 10
Bronze Stars. Ken joined the Veterans of Foreign Wars in 1993 and Disabled American Veterans in 1998.
He is survived by his wife, Bette; sons, Kevin and his wife, Angel, of Kansas; Kenneth Jr. and his wife, Maggie, of Oklahoma; Keith Miner and his wife, Amy, of Kansas; daughter, Kim and her fiancé, Lewis, of Kansas; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Sue Headley of Florida and Sandy Rees of Ohio; and brother Mike Miner of Ohio. Ken will also be greatly missed by his
dear friends, Dana Simmons, Diane Clark and Tina Kopecki.
He was predeceased by his parents and a sister.
Funeral services will be at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio at a later date.
Memorials in Ken’s name may be given to Gentiva Hospice, Audie Murphy VA Hospital or Lake Shore Volunteer Fire Department.
