Sharon Ann Peck-Jones

Sharon Ann Peck-Jones, 66, born Sharon Ann Smith of Pipe Creek, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Dec. 16.
She was born in West Point, New York, on Feb. 8, 1949 to Dora Bagby and James R. Smith. She married Dennis Peck in 1971 in San Antonio, and later married Peter Jones in 1997 at Grace Lutheran Church in Bandera.
Sharon attended school in San Antonio, graduating from Robert E. Lee High School and working as an insurance underwriter for many years.
Sharon later attended University of Texas San Antonio where she earned a Master's Degree in English, along with several distinguished honors.
Not only a Sunday-school teacher, she was also an extremely talented artist, art teacher, substitute teacher and an award-winning cook.
With her golden smile and beautiful laugh, Sharon became the light and the warmth of any room she was in. She deeply adored her pets, travel, reading, English literature, writing, studying history and cooking. Above all, she loved being around family.
To that end, Sharon whole-heartedly loved and cared for her son, Daniel, and her son Adam, who was born with several disabilities - all while being disabled herself.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Peter Jones; sons, Adam and Daniel; brothers and sisters, Bruce Brucks, Gaylynn Medina, Susan Brucks and Keith Brucks; father James R. Smith; grandchildren, Denali, Willow, Melody, and Eve; nephews and nieces, Chris, Cody, Jeremy, Josh, Andrew, Amanda, Brittany and Audrey; and her daughter-in-law, Deidra.
Funeral services were held Jan. 2, at Grace Lutheran Church in Bandera Texas with Minister Russ Lambert officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Sharon's name to reputable charities for autism and child abuse.
