Lawrence Clifford Henry Jr.

1949-2016

Lawrence Clifford "Cliff" & "LC" Henry Jr., 66, was called by God to leave this earth and join Him in Heaven on Jan. 3.
Cliff was the love of my life and we shared 46 years of marriage.
Born Sept. 22, 1949 in San Antonio, LC was brother to Donna Jean Roberts and son of Hank and Virginia Henry, who preceded him in death.
LC graduated from San Antonio Police Academy Class 1970-A in May 1970. He served as a police officer for 33 years, retiring as a detective in 2003.
While an assistant Scout Master of Troop 144 in Pipe Creek, LC attended Philmont Scout Ranch and helped several scouts achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.
A member of Grace Lutheran Church in Bandera, he faithfully served and supported the ministry for 40 years. Every December and January, he could be found sharing stories and fellowship while preparing for the annual Wild Game Dinner.
One of LC's greatest joys was working with his brother-in-law at his boat shop, which enabled him to purchase his first boat and develop his love for fishing. He shared this passion with his wife, Susan, often putting his fishing pole down to watch her catch the fish. He truly believed that even a bad day of fishing beat a great day doing most anything else.
Throughout his life, no matter which hat he wore, one knew that LC's honor, integrity, faith and hard work would also be found. He not only served as a role model for his family, he also became a role model for everyone else. LC never stopped giving - even after his mortal time. For these and so many other reasons he will be missed by many.
LC is lovingly survived by his wife, Susan; daughter Kristine Miller and her husband, Toby; and son Timothy Henry and his wife, Valerie. He will always be grandpa to Anthony, Patrick, Kaitlyn and Tyler.
A "Celebration of His Life" will be held at 11 am, Saturday, Jan. 16, at Grace Lutheran Church. Following the service, a "potluck" barbecue will be served at the Henry residence in Pipe Creek.
In lieu of flowers, loving donations in LC's name will be directed to a charity yet to be determined or can be given to the Cliff Henry Memorial Fund at Grace Lutheran Church.
