Ray Jackson Winn


Ray Jackson Winn, 85, of Bandera, passed away Monday, Dec. 28, in San Antonio.
He was born in Lubbock on May 9, 1930 to Francis and Gould Winn. Ray married Margaret Winn on March 20, 2001 in Bandera.
He had a distinguished military career of 23 years, serving first in the United States Marine Corps and then the US Air Force. A proud veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars, Ray was awarded the Purple Heart and 12 Air Medals in addition to numerous other awards and decorations. He also participated actively in Gypsy MC International for many years.
Ray is survived by wife Margaret Winn and her children, John Neubauer, Christine Neubauer and Lisa Longridge; and his son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Beverly Aldridge, and their children, Kimberly Aldridge, Becky Aldridge and Jon Frazier, as well as by numerous other relatives and friends.
Ray was predeceased by wife Elsie Florence Winn and his brother, Max Winn.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 pm, Friday, Jan. 8, at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Bandera. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm that same day, also at Grimes Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Rick Pfaff of Messiah Lutheran Church, in Boerne, officiating.
Burial with full military honors will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 11 am, Tuesday, Jan. 12.
The family of Ray Jackson Winn extends their sincere thanks to personnel with Methodist Hospital Emergency and Hospital, who cared for Ray preceding his death.
