Leon Francis Salzman


Leon Francis Salzman, 84, passed on to his eternal home on Tuesday, Dec. 29.
The youngest son of nine children, he was born at the family farm near LaCoste on July 4, 1931.
Leon graduated from LaCoste High School in 1949. After his marriage, he served in the United States Army for six years. Leon also worked at City Public Service Electric Company in San Antonio for over 31 years.
Leon and his wife, Charlotte, were married for 61 years.
Leon is survived by his sister, Marlene Schott and her husband, Randy; and wife Charlotte and the couple's children, Leon Wayne Salzman and his wife, Karla; Debbie Trimble; Henry Salzman and his wife, Jan; and Charla Ritchie and her husband, Wade. Other survivors include 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Leon was predeceased by his parents, brothers, a sister and a grandson.
A prayer service was held Saturday, Jan. 2, at Grimes Chapel in Bandera with interment following at Pipe Creek Cemetery.
