Claudine Bradshaw

Claudine 'Mimi' Bradshaw, 74, passed away quietly at her home on Monday, August 18. She was born at home on August 16, 1940 and was raised on a turkey farm in Cuero.
She briefly attended Del Mar College Nursing School in the 1960s but quickly decided that blood and needles were not for her.
Mimi married Douglas U. Bradshaw in January 1973. For many years, the couple shared a love of motorcycling, boating and flying.
She attended the Gene Prater Beauty School in Austin. After moving to Fort Worth and working as a cosmetologist for several years, Mimi utilized the knowledge she had attained in beauty school and became a star saleslady and President's Club member with Avon. In the 1980s, she was awarded five of the prestigious Albee Award figurines.
In the late 1980s and early 1990s, she bred award-winning Samoyed dogs. Mimi loved her "Sams."
An excellent homemaker, she really knew how to make a house a home. To her, family was everything. Also an avid gardener, Mimi could transform a wilted lawn into a wonderful almost jungle-like atmosphere using beautiful plants and flowers. In her later years, she enjoyed farming on Facebook.
And, nobody could make a cherry pie better than Mimi! Christmas was her favorite time of the year and her home was always decked out with hand-fashioned decorations and lights.
She is survived by her husband Douglas Bradshaw; children, Ona McGeorge and Brandon Bradshaw; grandchildren, Justin Gillmore, Janet Wright and David Acker; great-grandchildren, Haylee, Cloe and Bobby Bradshaw, Skyler and Destiny Wright, Jacob and Joshua Acker; and two siblings, Pauline Long and Buster Raglin, as well as by many nieces and nephews.
Mimi was predeceased by her parents, Paul Shuttlesworth and Evelyn Tyler; stepmother Oudia Estes; and four of her six siblings, James Smart, Vernon Smart, Minnie Jane Tischler and Christopher Shuttlesworth.
Memorial services were held August 19 at Living Springs Assembly of God, officiated by Pastor Ed Sullivan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Living Springs Assembly of God Youth Group.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Gentiva Hospice and Living Springs Assembly of God.
