Daisy 'Marie' Pickett

Daisy "Marie" Pickett, 77, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Feb. 27. She was born on Nov. 18, 1936 in San Angelo to parents Daisy Cartwright Seymour and John Richard Seymour.
An active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 410, Marie also served on the Lakehills Area Library Board of Directors. She faithfully volunteered her time and talents to various organizations around Bandera County.
Marie adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved to share her life lessons and interests with them. She also enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, bunco and "garden club." She loved visiting with her sisters and had an opportunity to spend a few happy days with them just prior to passing.
In her younger years, Marie spent many weekends hunting and fishing with her lifelong friends. We believe even now she is dancing in heaven to "Faded Love" with Guy.
And, as her great-grandson Eli, 7, said, "There's good news and there's bad news. The bad news is my Nanny died, but the good news is that she's with Jesus!"
Marie is survived by her children, Guy V. Pickett Jr., and his wife, Daniela, of Phoenix, Arizona; Jack Billings of Lakehills; Lura Pickett of Bryan; Lorri Haase and her husband, Ken, of Austin; Valarie Crombar and her husband, Chris, of Dallas; and Sue Pickett of Bandera; and grandchildren, Gwen Pickett, Blake Pickett, Griffin Billings, Kaitlin Pickett, Kelsey Calvin, Sara Baxter, Megan Ockander, Katie King, Tyler Copple, Emily Crombar, Guy V. Pickett III, Daniel Pickett, Cody Pickett and Kyle Pickett, as well as by 17 great-grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Glenda Howard and Sue Fritz, and multiple nieces and nephews.
Funeral services took place Saturday, March 8, at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Bandera with graveside services following immediately at Pipe Creek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Marie's name to the Lakehills Library, 7200 FM 1283, Lakehills 78063.
