Klara Ferguson, 98, of Bandera, left our world to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at the home of her friend and caregiver in Pipe Creek. She was born in the Bavarian Forest of Germany to Theres Hirtreiter Dick and Max Dick.
Klara married Dallas Ferguson in France in 1957.
She was a longtime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 9176, as well as a lifetime Catholic. As a civilian after World War II, Klara worked for the United States military in Germany.
A wonderful homemaker, Klara played host to many friends and visitors at her home. She loved the outdoors and got around Bandera on her bike where she met her friend, Josefine, over 30 years ago.
Klara's favorite hobby was fishing. She often rode her bike or walked with rod and reel to the lake in her neighborhood. She always had fish in the freezer.
Klara is survived by sister-in-law Maria Dick; nieces, Apollonia Reichart, Erna Daub and Marion Schleck; nephews, Herebert Döringer and Erhard Dick; and long-time friend, Josefine Kluna.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dallas Ferguson; sisters, Maria Döringer and Therese Bösl; and brothers, Erhard Dick and Maximillian Dick.
A rosary will be held at 11 am, Friday, Feb. 28, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church followed by a burial service by Father John Nolan at Bandera Cemetery.
Family and friends wish to express their gratitude and sincere thanks to Father Nolan; everyone at Riverside Hospice, who were godsends; and Dr. Jaafar.
