Dorothy LeStourgeon, 94, of Medina, passed away Thursday, Dec. 12, at the Bandera Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She was born May 19, 1919, to John and Rachel Evelyn Miller McHaney in Medina.
Dorothy married Wallace LeStourgeon, July 21, 1935.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Medina. She was a member of the Medina Chapter 988 Order of Eastern Star.
A few years ago, Dorothy was honored for being a 50-year member of the Medina Garden Club. She also volunteered for the EMS and helped with refreshments during fundraising events. In addition, Dorothy volunteered at the Core in Medina and one of her favorite pastimes was playing dominoes with her friends every Friday at the Methodist Church.
Dorothy will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by three sons, Cecil LeStourgeon of Medina; David LeStourgeon and his wife, Floran, of Kerrville; and Gammon LeStourgeon and his wife, Jetta, of Boerne; daughters, Alice Koenig and her husband, Donald, of Bandera and Connie Sinclair and her husband, David, of Pflugerville; and brother Corky McHaney and his wife, Virgie, of Medina, as well as by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, husband Wallace LeStourgeon and sister Lou Stokes.
A memorial service was held Monday, Dec. 16, at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Bandera.
A private interment took place at Oak Rest Cemetery in Medina. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy's name to the Medina First United Methodist Church, Medina Volunteer Fire Department or to a charity of choice.
